The second slice of retro gaming heaven from Midway has a lot
to live up to when compared to the first Arcade Treasures compilation.
The likes of Robotron 2084, Defender, Smash TV, Gauntlet and Paperboy
all stand out as some of the best retro games ever made, so what
can this pack offer?
Well there is a selection of 20 games in total:
Mortal Kombat 2
Mortal Komabt 3
Gauntlet 2
Spy Hunter 2
Xybots
NARC
APB
Cyberball 2072
Timber
Total Carnage
Pit Fighter
Wizard Of Wor
Xenophobe
Primal Rage
Arch Rivals
Rampage World Tour
Kozmik Krooz'r
Championship Sprint
Hard Drivin'
Wacko
I just hope Im not the only one thinking "what the hell
are Kozmik Krooz'r and Wacko?" I certainly dont remember
seeing those at the fun fair!
Anyway, this pack will certainly please the more blood thirsty
retro gamers with the inclusion of Mortal Kombat 2 & 3 (was
the first so bad it had to be left out??), along with Pit Fighter
and Primal Rage.
Ive never been the greatest fan of these games, Street Fighter
is where its at.
These four games have aged quite badly in terms of playability
and graphics, but Im sure many will get enjoyment out of the Mortal
Kombat games.
The highlights for me are Gauntlet 2, Championship Sprint, APB,
Total Carnage and my pick of the bunch NARC.
If the idea of being one cool dude, armed with machine guns and
rocket bombs, blasting the living hell out of everyone that moves
(oh the body parts flying around the screen!) sounds like fun
- then buy this pack.
On a more serious note kiddies, NARC is a lesson in why we should
all say no to drugs.
The extras included in the pack include notes about the games,
and the original arcade flyers along with video interviews.
The videos arent the best in quality, but help to round off a
decent package.
Xbox owners can also upload their high scores using Xbox Live.
